SALVATION: What is it? Who has it? How do I get it?

ROMANS 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. “

“Spirituality” is a topic being espoused all over the world. It is through every media available. There are different religions, beliefs, controversy over who is right who is wrong. This can become very confusing. The Bible declares that God is not the author of confusion.

1 Cor 14:33

This mini-teaching is for those seeking salvation. Those who have it already know and believe they have eternal life and are assured when  their body is laid in the grave, that they are with the Lord in heaven. (2 Cor 5:6) In order to understand what this means, is to understand that we are made in the image of God Who is a Spirit. We are spirit beings with a soul (mind, will, intellect, emotions) and live in a flesh body to function in this life. However, eternal life, the salvation we are talking about is life forever, never ceasing to exist. This is the part of us that receives salvation that we are discussing.

When God created mankind (male and female) He had fellowship with them. He put them in the Garden of Eden and gave them everything there and the authority over the Garden except for one tree. He told them not to take from it or they would surely die. (Gen 2:17)

Well, they disobeyed, listened to an outcast fallen angel named satan, and became separated from God. In essence, they were adopted into the family of satan through this treason. They died spiritually that day. That is the separation from God. But, God......

What a wonderful two words, But God. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

In the Book of Romans, especially in Chapter 5, it declares that sin entered the world by one man, (Adam) and death came upon all men. But, by grace through faith in the coming of Jesus Christ, the gift of righteousness is available to all who call upon His name. Jesus, left heaven, came to earth in the form of man, bought back man’s position with God by defeating satan and his authority and has opened the relationship of adoption back into His family.

How do I receive this? John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, truly, truly, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

When we receive Him as Lord, we once again are in His family, thus our spirit is made alive and we are what Jesus was referring to when He said a man must be born again, speaking of that restoration and literal Life of God into our spirit and in right relations with our Father. Our sins are thus forgiven, and we are declared innocent or just in the eyes and Kingdom of God. (Romans 3:24) He (God) has made Him (the Son) to be sin for us so that we could become in right standing with Him once again. (2 Cor 5:21)

First, realize you are a sinner separated from God. Not because of what you personally may have done but Romans 5:14 declares  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of Him that was to come.  God gives us the option of coming to Him and having a new life, eternal life with Him, or staying where we are. There is such controversy as to people saying there is more than one way to heaven, but that brings such confusion. God Himself came and died that we might have life. No one else can make that claim. Either what Jesus says is the truth or He is an absolute liar and con artist. The choice is yours. He is Truth.

He is Love. He is Right. He is mine.

If you know what is written here is truth and you want this precious Gift of eternal life from this amazing, loving Lord, then from your heart do as Romans 10:8-10 instructs:  But what saith it? The word is close to you, in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

DEEPER TRUTHS:

How to Stand in Days of Pressure

John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. “

Jesus, in speaking His last instructions to His disciples, foretold them of the things that were to be and continue until His return. He wanted them, as well as we who belong to Him, (John 17:20) to know the pending future. We are living the future He spoke of. Through generations, all Believers have had challenges, trials, and with His help have stood strong. We, today’s generation is unlike any other. We have instant news from around the entire globe. So much fear, confusion and divisions attack the minds and hearts of numerous individuals. Just as the Word of God tells us in Matthew chapter 24, we have nations against nations, major storms, catastrophies, anger, fear running rampant. People no longer trust their governments because of the divisive agendas. Lately there is anarchy in the streets of nearly every nation.

These events have not caught the Lord off guard. As written He forewarned in His Word of these happenings. He also gave us the instructions on hope to live and conduct our lives. Thus, how to handle these events is clearly stated in John 16:33 from the Amplified Bible: “I have told you these things

so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials, and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer--take courage, be confident, certain, undaunted--for I have overcome the world,--I have deprived it of power to harm, have conquered it (for you).”

How do I get hold of and walk in the peace, courage and confidence? It is easy to tell someone what to do and leave out the how to do it. It is trusting in the Word of God before you get the answer. The only way to receive anything from the Lord, is through faith. Faith is trusting in Him when you cannot see any change, how it could change, or when it will change. The God-kind of faith speaks things it cannot see rather than what it can.

Too often, we do a lot of complaining to the Lord and tell Him what we are experiencing rather than what we desire to change the circumstance or situation. This means I must feed on God’ promise and believe it more than the present, physical reality. As a people, we walk by faith in the natural all the time.

Let’ take an example. I am very hungry. I go to a restaurant. The waitress asks what she can do for me. My reply is, “I am hungry.” “Ok”, she responds, “ what can I do for you?” “I am hungry.” This is what we do to God. “I am sick.” “Ok, what can I do for you?” “I am sick.” More often than not we say, “I cannot pay my bills. I am broke. I lost my job. My business failed.” All the while God saying “What can I do for you?” Until you order your food from the waitress, and until it is served, you will not receive what you need. Think about it. You order food. You don’t see it. By faith you believe it is being prepared and will be come to you. That is natural faith.

God has more ability and power to give you what you ask whether health, finances, relationship healing, etc.; but, you “order” it before you “see it” and it is already prepared and will come to you.

How do I keep peace in the midst of the storm, pressure, challenge...order from His menu (The Word) what He said and believe you receive it before it is delivered...confess  but be of good cheer--take courage, be confident, certain, undaunted.
